Starting out in Asia over 60 years ago, Zuellig Pharma has established itself as the leading healthcare distribution solution specialist in the region.
 
Britanite is a company located in Quatro Barras, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Here, over a site of around 2.35m sq.m, it manufactures nitrogen based chemical products such as civil explosives, detonators and other defence materials.
 
Universal Products (Lytham) Manufacturing Ltd (UPL) is a leading contract manufacturer serving the pharmaceutical and personal care industries. Founded in 1976, the privately-owned £27m turnover company employs approximately 230 staff to provide a flexible and expedient solution for a speedy route to market; covering a significant range of products including liquids, creams, lotions, ointments and gels.
 
Wellman Hunt-Graham was formed by the merger of Hunt Thermal Engineering Limited and Wellman Graham Limited in 2005 and is now the largest manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers in the UK. Working from a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Dukinfield, Cheshire, the 75+ strong workforce achieved a turnover of almost £11m in the past year with approximately 40% of all goods produced being destined for export to a diverse range of worldwide markets. When the company recognised it needed to improve its delivery date accuracy, it exchanged its obsolete and ineffectual planning system for a state-of-the-art production planning and scheduling solution from Preactor.
 
EXAL Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer of extruded aluminum packaging. EXAL offers coil-based metal packaging container options in North America and Europe and is the leading independent contract manufacturer of aerosol products and liquids in Latin America.
 
Established in 1975 following the sell off of the Plessey’s Tool Room, Preformtools is now widely recognised as a leading solutions provider for companies requiring extremely high quality tools and components in the medical, high pressure fuel and hydraulics sectors.
 
With 20 years of experience in the metals and mechanical engineering sector, Cortiaço produces small, medium and large structures, including machinery and equipment for cutting, machining and heating. Their current headquarters is located in the city of Gravataí, Brazil and provides services that deal with the all aspects of a project including the equipment construction, transportation and installation on site. For the production processes the company employs a team of approximately 150 employees, in a plant of some 5,000 square meters. In addition to the manufacture of equipment, the oxy-cutting services, machining and heat treatment departments also provide a service to other companies.
 
The Metallurgical Flantech Ltda, founded in 2005, in the city of Caxias do Sul, Brazil is 130km from Porto Alegre, and is focused mainly on the production of exhaust system components for the automotive industry. Currently, the company has 10 employees, and their specialty is the production of large diameter special stainless steel short pipes and tube. Its products are delivered to major suppliers linked to car manufacturers from the centre of the Brazil, and also, more recently, outside the country. The components manufactured by Flantech can be found on brands, such as Volkswagen, Ford, Peugeot, Renault, Citröen, and General Motors.
 
The Inplac - Plastic Industry SA produces high quality flexible plastic packages, giving special attention to products with high technological content and, therefore, greater added value. The main type of packaging produced is the low density polyethylene to the markets of fertilizers, lime, limestone, thin mass and mortar. Founded in 1974, and located at Biguaçu, Brazil, the company is distinguished by the constant search for innovation. Several products and processes were developed in a pioneering way, with great technical and commercial success.
 
PROFROID Industries has been manufacturing refrigerating equipment since 1961. Part of the CARRIER SCS Distribution Group, the French factory is located in Aubagne in the south of France.
 
Plastique Micron, a Canadian based mid-sized blow moulding plastic container manufacturer, has been in business since 1970 and employs approximately 175 people. In recent years the company has adopted a more customer-oriented approach to be more than just a manufacturer, but also a partner offering a complete, global packaging solution in the form of plastic containers.
 
Founded in 1971, Blake UK is the leading UK-based manufacturer of antennas and installation equipment for TV, radio and satellite broadcast reception and radio communications.
 
Mega Embalagens was established in 1995 in Salvador do Sul, a small town just 100 km from Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil.
 
Marisio and Co. Ltda. manufactures high quality electrical products for the domestic and office markets. Based in Santiago City, Chile, the company operates out of a modern facility covering more than 8,000 sq.m. Here 200 employees, engineers, technicians and production staff, design, develop, manufacture and distribute more than 3,500 products.
 
Ardo UK Limited, has been a Kent based subsidiary of the Ardo Group since 1994 and supplies high quality frozen fruit and vegetables to over 400 key customers in the Retail and Food Services sector including Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Whitbread, Wetherspoons, and Aldi.
 
Established in 1969 by its current owners, Destec Engineering Ltd has been at the forefront of “Clamp Type Pipe Connectors” design for over 30 years. The company manufactures a range of high pressure fittings used extensively for high pressure Top-Sides, Sub Sea Piping, Manifolds and Risers.
 
Sandvik Mining and Construction’s facility in Alachua, Florida, is part of the Sandvik group of companies and specialises in the assembly of drill rigs for surface mining. The company’s assembly unit in Alachua, employs over 200 people, with 150 of these used in the production of the wide variety of drill rigs for supply throughout the world.
 
Grotto(Pty) Ltd., manufacturer of stainless steel tanks to order and a major supplier to the South African wine, beer, dairy and chemical industries, wanted to improve their customer delivery promising capability.
 
Founded in 1999, Trebortex is part of the Trèves Group, and is dedicated to the manufacture of fabric for the automotive industry. Employing more than 120 people, it has recently experienced a considerable increase in demand both in volume as well as in product mix, which has resulted in a significant increase in the complexity of its core business.

Polymatech (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (PTM), part of the Fuji Polymatech Group of Japan, was established in April 1987 and represents the first Polymatech manufacturing plant outside Japan. Tylon Corporation, part of the Daiho Group of Japan, was first established in Malaysia in 1988 and a manufacturing operation added in 1995. It has now expanded to a single large site in an industrial zone, covers 4 buildings, and employs more than 1,000 people.
 
Omron Corporation is one of the world’s leading electronic automation equipment companies. Based in Shiokoji Horikawa, Japan, Omron has to their name a string of developments that have revolutionized our lives, including several incredible worlds’ firsts: non-contact proximity switch, automatic traffic signal, ticket vending machine & fully automated train station system, automatic cancer cell diagnostic equipment, and on-line cash dispenser.
 
Ferra Engineering is recognised in Australia as one of the leading companies supplying precision machined, high pressure aluminium die cast components. Founded in 1992, the company has developed an excellent reputation in the USA, Canada, China and Japan for supplying high quality precision telecommunication and electronic compnents. Supplying to such high profile customers as Boeing Australia, Pratt and Whitney, British Aerospace and Tenix Defence, quality control and on-time delivery are paramount considerations for Ferra. When it came to ensuring that its scheduling software could deliver, Ferra turned to Simulation Modelling Services Pty Ltd (SMS) and Preactor for assistance.
 
Goonvean has been extracting kaolins, china stone, feldspars, and aggregate by-products in England for over two centuries. Kaolin is a fine clay used in ceramics and refractories and as a filler or coating for paper and textiles. The feldspar quarry—the last in the United Kingdom— produces high quality ceramic fluxing agents to compliment the clays.

Boots Contract Manufacturing (BCM), the manufacturing arm of High Street chemists chain, has now implemented Preactor scheduling tools at three of its factory sites - with plans to expand to two additional sites. The BCM operation is a very complex production challenge. BCM is responsible for the production of literally thousands of cosmetics and over-the-counter medicines for Boots the Chemists and other retailers.
 
A major supplier to the automotive industry has installed a Preactor PC-based graphical finite scheduling tool to help eliminate production bottlenecks, whilst at the same time improving lead-time accuracy and customer service.
 
A Preactor 300 FCS tool has replaced the manual wall planning board at Demag Cranes & Components (Mannesmann) – the manufacturer of overhead travelling cranes, hoists and warehouse systems. The result has been increased production efficiencies due to greater visibility of future planning requirements.
 
An independent family brewery founded in 1777 has joined the 21st century with a vengeance by integrating a Preactor FCS into its bottling and canning operation. The result has been improved efficiencies, with cleaning and product turnaround times being scheduled with increased accuracy. Hall & Woodhouse is located in Blandford Forum, Dorset, UK, where it brews beer and manufactures soft drinks.
 
A Preactor scheduling tool has begun playing a major role in the manufacturing operation of the world’s leading supplier of anodized aluminum parts to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
 
With a product range of 40,000 different wire ropes across a wide range of applications, each requiring a precise manufacturing specification, Brunton Shaw’s scheduling capacity can quickly reach breaking point. This is nothing new to Brunton Shaw since it has been involved in the manufacture of steel rope for over 100 years.
 
A Preactor 300 FCS tool is now helping LSG Sky Chefs UK Limited prepare up to 100,000 airline meals per week. Focused on the meal assembly area, Preactor is estimated to have achieved measurable productivity improvements of up to 15% when compared with previous performance levels.
